About us

Delivering high-quality English language and academic summer courses to young learners and high school students.

Experio Summer

Experio Summer is part of the Experio Life group of companies. Experio Life Limited was founded by Tony Evans and Rob Moss in 2000.

2001 – we operated a Summer School at Clifton College in Bristol on a ‘dry hire’ basis

2005 – following discussions with the College’s management team, we took the step to deliver the summer programme as a Clifton College branded international summer school

2006 – the partnership developed further to include a direct role for Experio to promote the College overseas and to recruit international boarders through its various marketing activities

2013 – our “partnership” model was so successful that we attracted the attention of Bromsgrove School near Birmingham who asked us to establish a similar model for them

2019 – our last summer of operation prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and the end of the partnerships with Clifton and Bromsgrove

2020 – we were joined by Richard Avery, former Operations Director at Clifton College who took up the same position with Experio Summer and by Ben Whittaker, Managing Director of EngXcel in Cambridge who is responsible for Academic Programme Management across all Experio Summer centres. The partnership between Experio Summer and EngXcel is known as “Experio English”

2021 – we agreed a new partnership with Bishop’s Stortford College in Hertfordshire to establish their own branded international summer school and to recruit full-time international boarders for their Prep and Senior Schools

2022 – 250 students from 12 different countries attended the BSC International Summer School over a 4-week period

2023 – building on the success of our first year at BSC, we ran at capacity for 6 weeks in July and August, welcoming 500 students from 22 different countries

2024 Experio English Ltd was officially incorporated as a JV owned and operated by Experio Summer and EngXcel

Our partner schools

Bishop’s Stortford College is a leading UK independent boarding school ideally located between London and Cambridge. Bishop’s Stortford College’s reputation for providing an outstanding education in the fullest sense of the word has continued to grow since its establishment in 1868.

Today, it is one of the leading co-educational, all through, day and boarding schools in the country with approximately 1300 pupils across the three schools: Pre-Prep School (4-7 yrs; 127 pupils), Prep School (7-13 yrs; 506 pupils), Senior School (13-18 yrs; 674 pupils). Approximately 200 board: around 30 in the Prep School (most boarding from the age of 9 years) and 170 in the Senior School, including a number of international pupils. Given the diversity within the College, there is huge scope for bringing different people of different ages together to learn from each other and enjoy each other’s company.

The College is conveniently located on the edge of the historic market town of Bishop’s Stortford and just a short walk from the shops and the train station.
