About us

Delivering high-quality English language and academic summer courses to young learners and high school students.

Experio Summer

Experio Summer is part of the Experio Life group of companies. Experio Life Limited was founded by Tony Evans and Rob Moss in 2000. In 2001 we operated a Summer School at Clifton College in Bristol on a ‘dry hire’ basis. We worked closely with Richard Avery, who was the Commercial Manager at Clifton College, and it became apparent to each of us that there was mutual benefit in a closer collaborative working arrangement. So, in 2005 we took the step to deliver the summer programme as a Clifton College branded international summer school.

This collaboration developed further in 2006 to include a direct role for Experio to promote the College overseas and to recruit international boarders through its marketing activities.

This approach was so successful that we attracted the attention of Bromsgrove School near Birmingham who asked us to establish a similar model for them, which we did in 2013.

Our current model

The Covid pandemic forced a re-appraisal of our operations and led to a new agreement with Bishop’s Stortford College in Hertfordshire. It is a smaller venue than Clifton College and Bromsgrove School but the needs and opportunities are just the same.

Richard Avery joined Tony and Rob to establish a new operation with its first year of operations in 2022. It is quite clear that the smaller numbers mean we can produce a very high-quality product that is now in demand from discerning agents and overseas schools.

Within a very short timeframe we now have demand exceeding capacity and we are open to new partnerships that follow the same format:

  • Mid-sized student numbers i.e. about 1200 student weeks = around 200 – 250 beds across a 6-week summer period
  • A boarding school that wants its own branded summer programme that will support its wider promotional objectives for international markets
  • A boarding school that can demonstrate quality educational achievements
  • A boarding school with a sensible and realistic attitude to growth and profitability
  • A boarding school genuinely interested in a mutually beneficial long-term partnership

Partnership benefits

  • Own-branded International Summer School
  • Control of branding & messaging
  • Oversight of product & delivery
  • Extension of current educational programme portfolio
  • Upselling to existing agent partners
  • Access to new agents/markets
  • International pupil recruitment to the year round school through:
    – increased international profile
    – summer school taster experience
    – pre-sessional option for international boarders
    – long-term planning (min. 5-yr contract)
    – modest investment

  • Our partners

Experio Summer is proud to be partnering with Bishop’s Stortford College, one of the UK’s leading independent day and boarding schools and EngXcel, a Cambridge based English language school.

All partners, agents and suppliers are carefully selected for the quality of the services that they provide as well as their reliability, integrity and professionalism.

    Our centres

Bishop’s Stortford College is a leading UK independent boarding school ideally located between London and Cambridge. Experio Summer in partnership with EngXcel Cambridge launched a new international summer school for young learners (8-12) and teenagers (13-17) on the College’s wonderful campus in 2022.

In 2022 just over 250 students from 10 different countries attended the inaugural BSC International Summer School and in 2023 there were 500 students from 22 different countries…we must be doing something right?!
